If you want to hunt for tidewater cheaply in Chiba Prefecture, here it is! How to get clams at a “good price” at [Funabashi Sanbanse Seaside Park], where you can also harvest clams?!

admission fee is low

How many clams can be harvested this time at [Funabashi Sanbanse Seaside Park], where the entrance fee is the cheapest among the paid tide hunting grounds in Chiba Prefecture. I’ve been investigating how much it costs to take clams home.

This day is the last day of Golden Week, so I’m a little worried that the clams have not been harvested. I will do my best to make my child enjoy their first tide picking!

Please take a look to the end!

I am overwhelmed by the unimaginable number of people…!

On this day, the schedule is 8:30~11:00 (the time changes depending on the tide. So I arrived at the venue at 8:30 … There are so many people!! The parking lot was almost full at the opening time. Judging from the density of the tents, it is likely that the tents had already been arranged from around 7:30 a.m. Now that I have a sense of everyone’s seriousness, I immediately jump into the venue.

I felt that there were 5 times as many people as the free tide picking venue [Chiba Port Park], which I also went to during Golden Week.

The clams are a large size that is satisfying to eat!

As expected, it is a paid tide hunting venue! The size of the clams is a large size that is firm and satisfying. Everyone is picking a bucket full of clams, and I am definitely feeling like it! To my surprise, some of them were collecting such high-grade shellfish.

You can also get very high-class “clams” in Japan!

Some of them were picking clams, a high-quality shellfish that is very popular in Japan. The back side of the venue (sea side) seems to be a secret place where clams are lurking. Clams cost about 1,000 yen at the store, so if you can get them, it’s a great deal~!

Of course, you can also take clams home!

I can’t take much… I thought so, but there was a “secret point”!

Everyone gathers in the same place to dig clams, so the places where people gather are almost exhausted. No clams came out after digging and digging, and after digging for about 30 minutes, I finally found two …

So, I changed the location and dug at the edge of the venue where there were no people at all. It comes out crunchy! Just by digging a little, about 5 pieces will come out. This delighted the children, who had been nervous because they couldn’t pick clams at all until a while ago.

It’s a relief that children can learn about the fun of tide picking.

Here are the results of this harvest!

I was able to find a place where the clams were, so I was able to take a lot of pictures in the second half. The weight that bothers me is… It was 1.3 km. I only needed to harvest enough to eat tonight, so I was very satisfied.

The clams I picked were deliciously steamed with sake!

What are the fees?

【Entrance Fees】adult:600円 / 4 years old or older:300円

【Takeaway Rates】¥120 / 100g

This time, I was able to harvest about 1.3 kg, so the take-out fee is 1,560 yen

Including the entrance fee, the amount spent this time was ¥3,120 !

If you rent a rake locally, it costs 100 yen per rake (it is a system where you rent for 200 yen and return it, especially 100 yen).

It’s cheaper than other venues that charge about 2,000 yen per person.

Please note that the entrance fee is for Seven Tickets only and cannot be paid at the venue.

The result of the survey!

The facilities are substantial and the entrance fee is cheap, and if it is about 1~2 km, it was cheaper than other tidewater hunting venues, including the take-out fee, so I was very satisfied!

There are also LaLaport and IKEA public baths nearby, so it’s nice to be able to heal your tired body and enjoy a meal on the way home.

  • If you want to take home about 1~2 kg, it will be cheaper than other tidewater hunting venues
  • You can borrow a pitchfork
  • There are many toilets and foot washing stations, so there is little waiting time.

Access & Parking

It is about 25 minutes by bus from the south exit of Funabashi Station on the JR Sobu Line, Keisei Funabashi Station on the Keisei Main Line, and Futamata Shinmachi Station on the JR Keiyo Line.

Summary

This time, I did a survey at Funabashi Sanbanse Seaside Park, which is the cheapest of the paid tide hunting venues in Chiba Prefecture, but the price was just right for me, who did not plan to take home too much. It’s also nice to be able to borrow a rake at the venue. Chiba Port Park, another tidewater hunting venue that I investigated, also caught a lot of clams for free, so please take a look at this article!

Funabashi Sanbanse Seaside Park was a tide hunting venue that made me want to come back next year. I hope you will come and visit us!
