[Cheap and fun all day long! ] If you want to play all day in Sakura City, we recommend “Grass Flute Hill”! There are also animals and you can ride a mini train!

cheap travel

Various events are held all year round at Kusafue no Oka, the most cost-effective leisure spot in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, and you can enjoy it without getting bored no matter how many times you visit, so it is a must-see for those who are raising children!

This time, we have investigated the great appeal of such a grass flute hill, so please take a look to the end.

I’m glad that the entrance fee is cheap and you can play all day!

Even if you visit Kusafue Hill with three parents and children, the entrance fee is within 1,000 yen. You can also set up a tent in the park, so it’s fun to set up a tent and bring your lunch to spend the whole day!

The mini train that is worth riding can also be enjoyed by adults!

With a total length of 1.1 kilometers, the mini railway on Kusafue Hill, which is one of the longest in Japan, is packed with details such as changing routes between the first and second laps, so not only children but also adults can fully enjoy it. Currently, JR Central-certified Dr. Yellow is in operation!

You can even see animals and hydrangea flowers!

There are a lot of playground equipment, so you can play all day without getting bored!

There are three playground equipment installed on the grass flute hill, a lawn square, forest athletics, and an adventure trap, so children can play and run around as much as they want without getting bored.

In May, large carp streamers swim in this lawn square, and in the forest athletics, you can see nuts such as pine cones, acorns, and akebi in autumn. Being able to enjoy the four seasons in this way is also a unique attraction of Kusafue Hill.

In the spring, you can also enjoy the cherry blossoms around you on an adventure!

You can interact with various animals

Horseback riding, feeding horses and goats, and interacting with small animals are cheaper than other leisure spots, which is a great point for the child-rearing generation!

Goat food can be purchased for 50 yen at the office in the training center in front of the entrance, so be sure to buy it when you visit Kusafue Hill.

A popular person on the hill of grass whistle! Goat “Ponyo”

In 2020, a three-month-old baby goat made headlines when he spent three months on a cliff near the Keisei Electric Railway tracks. After that, it became a popular anime in Japan after being taken in by Kusafue Hill. It was named Ponyo after Ghibli’s [Ponyo on the Cliff]!

You can also see the two cubs that Ponyo gave birth to!

Be soothed by fluffy little animals!

At the petting zoo, you can touch chicks, guinea pigs, rabbits, and turtles! It was impressive that when the child gently wrapped the chick in his hand, the chick closed its eyes and began to sleep. When you put the guinea pig on your lap, it licks your arm and is very cute ♪

Even small animals have a splendid life! Let’s touch it ♪ gently

In May, the “Rose Garden” with 2,500 roses in full bloom is in full bloom!

In the rose garden on Kusafue Hill, which has won many international awards, you can enjoy 1,250 species and 2,500 precious original species and old roses, and spring is mid-May ~ early June. The best time to see autumn is late October ~ mid-November.

When you enter the garden… Is this the world of picture books?! The wide variety of roses will make you feel as if you have come to the world of the story.

My recommendation! This is the featured event of Grass Flute Hill!

Various events are held throughout the year at Kusafue Hill.

Especially on New Year’s Day, admission is free. On the day of the Sakura Industrial Expo, the entrance fee is 100 yen, so you can’t miss it as a value enthusiast because there are days when you can get a good deal!

The “freshly made rice cakes” served in an old private house with a sense of history are exquisite!

In an old private house with a history of 150 years, you can enjoy freshly made chewy rice cakes while resting in the tatami room. There are three rice cakes per dish, so the rice cakes alone will fill you up. It’s also fun to order a few types and share them with everyone!

In this old private house, Hina dolls are exhibited in March and May dolls are exhibited, and many people visit to see the dolls at the time of the exhibition.

Relax while enjoying freshly made rice cakes.

Kinako, grated radish, red bean paste, and mitarashi are all exquisite, and I can’t decide which one to choose. The mitarashi was easy to eat without being too sweet!

It makes you feel like you’re at your grandpa’s or grandma’s house!

Children are very excited about the large amount of “tadpoles”!

In the small pond on the side of the second campsite, tadpoles hatched from eggs were swimming with Ujauja in the spring, and children were watching them by scooping them up with nets and cups! After observing it, I firmly returned it to the pond.

We also found a very small black frog! What kind of thing is it…?

A real train is on display, and adults are very excited!

If you go further to the old private house towards the second campsite, you will see a real train!
This train is a subway car Toei Mita Line 6000 line type that was actually operated from Showa 43 ~ Heisei 11, and was donated from Tokyo to Kusafue Hill in Heisei 12.

When I entered the vehicle, it was stored in a clean condition with no noticeable damage. With this train, you can run around in the car! So, my child was also very excited.
